Tsurumi aerators are low-cost wastewater treatment solutions that promote the aerobic processes that natu- rally break down wastewater.
PROCESSING effluent and wastewater from livestock can be simple and cost effective using Tsurumi’s self-aspirat- ing aerators.
Introducing air into the mix promotes the aero- bic processes that break down the waste naturally.
Self-aspirating aerators are highly efficient, low- maintenance systems.
vice of the equipment is straight forward and doesn’t require drainage of the sewage tank.
Available from Aussie Pumps, the Tsurumi-built aerators are called the TRN series.
Tsurumi Pumps, based in Kyoto, is the world’s largest submersible pump manufacturer, with the capacity to build over 1.4 million units per year.
Tsurumi pioneered the use and application of submersible aerators with livestock operators in Ja- pan.
The economical ben- efits, compared to con- ventional blowers or pad- dle wheel-style aeration equipment, have led to the systems being widely applied for sewage treat- ment throughout Asia.
Aussie Pumps Tsurumi product manager Neil Bennett said, “We see that livestock producers, abattoirs and food pro- cessing plants all have wastewater handling is- sues.”
“These aerators offer potentially huge savings in installation and main- tenance costs for these applications.”
The submersible aera- tors incorporate an in-
tegrated stainless steel semi-openimpeller.
The impeller draws air through the intake, mixes it with the liquid and dis- charges it at a high pres- sure.
This leads to highly efficient aeration with a number of other signifi- cant advantages over con- ventional aeration means.
By matching the size of the aerator to the tank, it is possible to aerate tanks to 17m in diameter and 6m deep with a single unit.
For larger tanks, two or more aerators can be installed to provide the right results.
“These aerators are as easy to install as a nor- mal submersible pump, and for maintenance they are simply pulled to the surface on a chain,” Ben- nett said.
“Tsurumi applies the same no-compromise de- sign philosophy to these units as it does to its sub- mersible pumps.
“Anti-wicking cable en- try, dual-silicon carbide mechanical seal encapsu- lated in an oil chamber, patented oil lifter and abrasion-resistant mate- rials are all part of the package.”

Nu-Tek’s PIR panels a growing force
INSULATED panels in the animal husbandry sector are nothing new, but as insurance compa- nies and growers alike demand higher per- formances, famers are turning rapidly to PIR panels.
Polyisocyanurate, which is a mouthful in any lan- guage, overcomes the major issues facing the insulated panel business of the past.
Nu-Tek’s PIR panels are fire rated, rodent resistant and provide the ultimate in insulation against all conditions.
No more mice-infested sheds with sloppy joints and fighting with insur- ance companies about premiums.
Many insurance com- panies now insist on PIR panels and will offer dis-
counts against the out- dated EPS (polystyrene) panels.
Nu-Tek panels have been recommended by some of Australia’s larg- est shed builders, and be- ing 100 percent Austral- ian owned and manufac- tured means fast delivery (usually two weeks any- where in Australia) and personal attention to any queries.
Nu-Tek’s national sales manager Warwick Prest- wood travels extensively throughout Australia meeting farmers on site to help with designs and product specification.
For all inquiries, to re- quest a sample or arrange a meeting, please contact Warwick direct on 0488 544 102.
